November 16, 2018, Chea Sim University of Kamchaymear organized a workshop on curriculum development based on Cambodian Qualifications Framework in order to improve quality of programs at CSUK and to match with the requirements of the job markets. Chea Sim University of Kamchaymear needs to review the program learning outcomes so that the PLOs are aligned with Cambodia National Qualification Framework. This essential workshop was concentrated on program learning outcomes, course learning outcomes, lesson learning, and Cambodian Qualification Framework. After accomplished this vital workshop, the participants might know how to write learning outcomes, both program and course learning outcomes. Moreover, they might understand how to write self-assessment reports of the program in order to enhance the quality of CSUK’s programs.
Program learning outcomes describe what the learner will be able to do at the end of the study program. The program learning outcomes should be aligned with the needs of the stakeholders as well as the vision and mission of the university. They also contribute to the achievement of the graduate attributes and program objectives. While PLOs contribute to the achievement of program objectives, course learning outcomes describe obviously what learners will know and be able to do at the end of the course. They are aligned with one or more or the program learning outcomes and they contribute to the achievement of the program learning outcomes. Nevertheless, lesson learning outcomes describe clearly what learners will know and be able to do at the end of the lesson. They are sub-sets of the course learning outcomes and they contribute to the achievement of the course learning outcomes.
As a result, this workshop has reviewed program learning outcomes and has improved Quality Assurance’s practice of Chea Sim University of Kamchaymear in order to deal with writing self-assessment reports of the programs.
